Teeth Grinding Treatment – An Introduction

Hi, I’m Julie Simpson. I am the creator of Teeth Grinding Treatment and up until a year ago in early 2008, I was a long time sufferer of a teeth grinding condition medically referred to as ‘bruxism’. I have been free of bruxism for a bit over a year now.

I first discovered my night time teeth grinding activities at the age of 9 which was around 23 years ago! I was then staying over at a friend’s house and I can still remember being woken up in the middle of the night as my friend was freaking out because I was grinding my teeth so violently.
As there was no pain and it occurred when I was sleeping, this occurrence was left un-dealt with until signs of real problems started to show almost 10 years later.

According to the American Dental Association, 50% of Americans grind or clench their teeth at some point in their lives and this figure is applicable to the worldwide population as well. Most of these cases go unnoticed and if you’re lucky, you will only have experienced the above signs of jaw popping.

The unlucky ones will experience far more serious complications such as jaw pain, temporomandibular jaw disorder (TMJ/TMD), throbbing headaches, neck/shoulder pain, a misaligned jaw, damage to the teeth, receding of the gum, insomnia and a whole nightmare of other resulting issues.

If left untreated, teeth grinding or bruxism can cause some major damage to your health. If you have already visited your doctor or dentist, most likely you would have been told that there is no solution to teeth grinding; even more so if it was a habit cultivated from an early age. The best advice you have probably been given thus far is to get a teeth grinding mouth guard custom fitted which you have been duly informed that you need to wear for the rest of your life.

I am just your normal average everyday person and I don’t claim to be an authority, expert or professional on this subject but what I can do to help you is by offering you all that I have learnt from my personal 23 year experience as a patient of bruxism. And the first piece of advice I’ll give you is this:

Take your doctor’s or dentist’s advice with a grain of salt. Do your own research before making a conclusion. While there may be no magic pill for the treatment of teeth grinding, I assure you there are specific methods that many ex-bruxers (bruxer=bruxism sufferer) like myself have used very successfully to completely eradicate this condition.

On this site, I will share with you what worked for me. I have also taken the time to review and gather feedback from other ex-bruxers to bring you the best solutions we know of.

Go right ahead and learn more about your teeth grinding condition by reading the articles I have written and subsequently trying out the recommended teeth grinding treatment programs to see if it works for you.

I wish you all the best.
Julie Simpson
